Mr. Montgomery is the Founder and Managing Director of MCF Advisors in Charlotte, NC, which is a boutique investment banking firm with the mission of providing best-in-class corporate financing and investment banking services to privately-held middle market business owners so as to assist these clients with strategies for creating value in their businesses and transforming this value into diversified wealth. Historically, he has been involved with providing mergers and acquisitions advice and capital formation strategies to businesses in a wide range of industries, but as of the last several years he has been focusing on the traditional and renewable energy industries.

Prior to founding MCF Advisors, Mr. Montgomery was the Managing Director of RBC Centura’s internal investment banking unit in Charlotte, NC, and prior to that a co-founder and Managing Director of Capital Investment Partners, a private investment banking firm focused on small to middle market transactions in Raleigh, NC. Previously, Mr. Montgomery practiced corporate and securities law in Raleigh, NC and Baltimore, MD. He received a JD/MBA from Tulane University, an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and his high school degree from the Hotchkiss School. Mr. Montgomery is a member of the North Carolina State Bar. He has been a founder of and served as a director of numerous privately held companies, and currently serves in the role of President for the Charlotte chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Mr. Montgomery is a registered representative and investment advisor with SNL and holds his Series 7, 65, and 24 licenses. He lives in Gastonia, NC, with his wife and two children, and enjoys spending time with his family in Wrightsville Beach, NC and at Lake Wylie, SC.
